Kensington Metropark - Milford

A friend on my Google+ page described Kensington Metropark as a vacation that is only a short distance away.  I think that this is the perfect way to describe the Park - it was exactly like the perfect summer vacation!  This was my first time in the park, and it was only $5 to enter.

Lake with Osprey Nest - Kensington Metropark

I was immediately welcomed by a beautiful small lake/marsh area.  In the center of the lake was a nest stand, and a bunch of people were standing on the sidewalk with large cameras.  I talked to two nice men, Ed and Roger, and they informed about the baby Osprey in the nest.  Everyone looked very excited!  Thanks to Ed and Roger for the wonderful pictures.

After the bird watching, I went on to the Farm Area - complete with a petting zoo and concession stand.  This is free with admission and the kids were loving it.

This place looks like it would be great in Winter!  I stumbled upon the winter area which has an outdoor ice skating rink, Sled Hills, and a Snowboard Hill.  I'm assuming that cross-country skiing is also a possibility since there are so many trails.

There are many beaches, a public motor boat launch for boating and fishing, kayak/canoe/paddle boat rentals.  Like I said earlier... this place has everything.  They even have a water park that costs a little extra.  Equestrian Trails too!

Next up...golfing.  Yes, they even have golfing for an additional price.

I can't believe that I have never been here before.  I really want to go during fall to see all of the colors.  I was completely blown away by this place!  I can't wait to go back.  Here is the general website and the link to all of their maps.
