Mercury Burger Bar - Detroit

We recently went to the Mercury Bar before a Tiger's game.  Since it is in Corktown, there wasn't much of a wait.  This was our first time here, and we were excited to try it out since the menu looked very good online.  (http://mercuryburgerbar.com).  The exterior looks like an old-fashioned diner.

Inside, there was seating up at the bar and along the sides of the main dining room.

Since it was such a beautiful day, we decided to eat outside.  It was a great choice because there is also a covered patio.  The service was nice and pretty quick despite the restaurant being almost full.  The hostess was very nice as well.

We were excited to see lots of local brews on tap, including this one by Arbor Brewing company called Strawberry Blonde.  (Awesome!)

Here are their sweet potato fries along with the Topor Burger which includes, among other things, a fried egg.

Next up is the Local Burger which includes a BBQ pulled pork.  Also great!

Here is the Poutine with their hand-cut fries.  Very good french fries, but I wish the gravy had just a little more flavor!  (Maybe it just needed a little more salt?)

Finally, the Chicago dog.  Fresh ingredients and good flavor.  The bun split open on the bottom, so it was a bit hard to eat, but everything tasted great.

We had a wonderful time at Mercury Burger Bar.  The prices were very reasonable, and we are looking forward to our next visit!  There are so many great places to hang out in Corktown, and this is a must-see.

Photography In Detroit

I was out with some friends last weekend, and had the opportunity to take some pictures around Detroit.  The sun was out, and it was a great day.  I think that it's important to show the positive sides of Detroit, along with some of the negative.
